This relates to my comments on a passage from Aldous Huxley's Brave New World that I just posted. It's easier to go for the short cure instead of changing the future positively. You have to have a strong base to build on to make a better anything, wether it is a relationship, a building, an education, etc. And if it's appearant that what you're involved in is grossly misshapen or off-track, you need to have the courage to walk away and start over.
