This quote from Campbell reminds me of an old saying which I can't find the author to: 'an artist can find themselves through their medium'. I am a visual-learning type person and have always found images and color to be a much easier way to truly express one's self. And Art absolutely helps to tell the story of our journey on this planet. Just the other day I was watching a documentary on Minoan culture where it showed some of their art; I was fascinated by the imagery (the clothes and hairstyles seemed futuristic to me!) and it amazed me that it was about 3,500 years old. Anyways, Joseph Campbell was truly a fascinating individual, find out more by visiting the Foundation's website.
