Even Science is a very rudimentary way of understanding the universe and itself often celebrates the aesthetics of the universe. It's like if you imagine an alien watching a nature video of us in our cities and daily lives and whatnot, many of the things we find so important lose meaning quickly when you approach life from that perspective. And take that classic story of the old lonely Scrooge, rich but with nobody to share his life with. If you take out what is sublime and special in our lives they can seem to lose justification.
