The Real Return Of Futurama

Futurama returns! For real! I am a year late in this breaking story but I just noticed the episodes appearing on Comedy Central. In 2007 four Futurama movies were made -  Bender's Big ScoreThe Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game, and  Into the Wild Green Yonder. They were sold as DVD's and cut up into sixteen 'episodes'. The DVD sales were enough for Comedy Central to order 26 episodes of the series that officially ran from 1999 until 2003, and they have already begun airing (June 2010). Word is that Fox still has the right to the show if they want to pull it back. That's great news because as I've said before, Futurama laid the groundwork for an endless Simpsons-esque run if it were to go that far. What better setup do you need for good episodes when you have the entire future of humanity and the universe to work with? I always liked Fry of course, but Leena and Bender were two great new and different characters. In it's own campy gen-x kind of way, Futurama gives you animated sci-fi comedy at it's very best.
