The Quiet Man is Now Framed

And Ed's Art Frameshop cranks out another one. Read about this ink drawing below a few posts back. Now it is framed. The matting and frame definitely add dimension, depth, and a great overall enhancement to the piece. That is what good framing is - adding to, but not overwhelming the art. Some interior designers or aggressive frame salesmen might push four mats 5 inches wide with a fillet and some ridiculous frame that matches the wallpaper not the art, etc. This is bad. Don't do this. Good framing doesn't have to be over-simple, but it shouldn't be ridiculous either. Always frame to the piece of art itself and don't worry about anything else.
